About
The Great Commission Theatre Company

Act, Model, and Proclaim

In Christianity, the Great Commission is the instruction of the resurrected Jesus Christ to his disciples to spread the gospel to all the nations of the world. The most famous version of the Great Commission is in Matthew 28:16–20, where on a mountain in Galilee Jesus calls on his followers to make disciples of and baptize all nations in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  It has become a tenet in Christian theology emphasizing ministry, missionary work, evangelism, and baptism.

Today, so many people call themselves Christian, while feeling no duty to live and think as one. This reality demonstrates just how much the culture has re-imagined the Church to become merely an identity or a brand, rather than an encounter with divinity in the Person of Jesus Christ.  The Great Commission Theatre seeks to engage the culture with relevant stories that proclaim God’s Truth and creates a platform of evangelism without being preachy.

Our prayer is to draw ever deeper into the mystery of Christ while discovering an understanding of ourselves and God’s creation.  We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.  We are here to share stories that speak life into the experiences of every person in our present culture, meeting them where they are and where one can discover purpose in the human condition through faith, hope, mercy, grace, redemption, and above all, love.
